White House chief medical advisor announces retirement

Anthony Fauci announced he is to retire from White House chief medical adviser and other positions in December, which is good for him as it frees him from forces on all sides.

Fauci is a top scientist, but within the US the pandemic had never been a scientific issue.

Scientists called for wearing masks, but there were anti-maskers in the US;

Scientists advocated for vaccination, but so many citizens complained and protested.

With their mouths shut, how could scientists work?

The US even crowned itself, "First in fighting pandemic",

and launched the idea of "origin-tracing" it back to China, despite clear hints about their Fort Detrick.

Now monkeypox has arrived in the US and has infected all 50 states.

Will the US withstand this challenge?
