Aug 26: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Aug 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 312 new cases of confirmed infections (50 imported cases, 18 in Guangdong province, 13 in Fujian province, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Guangdong province; 262 indigenous cases, 111 in Hainan province, 83 in Tibet autonomous region, 27 in Sichuan province, 15 in Shaanxi province, 8 in Chongqing municipality, 4 in Guangdong province, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Qinghai province, 2 in Shanxi province, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Henan province, including 91 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 39 in Hainan province, 24 in Tibet autonomous region, 11 in Shaanxi province, 10 in Sichuan province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Qinghai province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Aug 25, 428 patients were released from hospital after being cured (61 imported cases; 367 indigenous cases, 284 in Hainan province, 21 in Guangdong province, 11 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 9 in Tibet autonomous region, 8 in Shaanxi province, 7 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 7 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Fujian province, 5 in Sichuan province, 3 in Qinghai province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Hubei province). 30,888 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 5.

As of 24:00 on Aug 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 22,203 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 21,582 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 621 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Aug 25, the National Health Commission had received reports of 241,348 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 228,474 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 7,648 confirmed cases (including 35 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,166,702 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 194,759 were still under medical observation.

On Aug 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,316 new asymptomatic cases (77 imported cases; 1,239 indigenous cases, 444 in Tibet autonomous region, 285 in Hainan province, 133 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 103 in Qinghai province, 67 in Henan province, 51 in Shaanxi province, 39 in Sichuan province, 20 in Jiangxi province, 13 in Hubei province, 13 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 12 in Hebei province, 12 in Chongqing municipality, 9 in Liaoning province, 8 in Gansu province, 6 in Shandong province, 5 in Heilongjiang province, 5 in Jiangsu province, 4 in Guangdong province, 3 in Fujian province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region).

On Aug 25, 947 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (80 imported cases; 867 indigenous cases, 408 in Hainan province, 244 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 72 in Zhejiang province, 49 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 31 in Jiangxi province, 14 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 10 in Tibet autonomous region, 8 in Hubei province, 6 in Qinghai province, 4 in Jilin province, 4 in Guangdong province, 4 in Gansu province, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Henan province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Sichuan province, 1 in Yunnan province, 1 in Shaanxi province and 1 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region). 95 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Aug 25, 22,447 asymptomatic cases (increased by 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region after verification) were still under medical observation (including 695 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Aug 25, 5,521,211 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 378,139 in Hong Kong (9,643 had died and 72,972 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 785 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 5,142,279 in Taiwan (9,728 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
