Sweden-based industrial enterprise Atlas Copco Group decided to establish a presence in Suzhou New District, Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, according to a signing ceremony held in Suzhou on Aug 11.
The Swedish enterprise is expected to build a research and development base as well as a production base for industrial gas equipment in the district.
Francis Liekens, vice-president at Atlas Copco, Greater China, delivered a speech at the signing ceremony, saying Atlas Copco's SND operations are important.
The enterprise will increase its investment in innovation and R&D to enhance its cooperation with SND.
Founded in 1873, Atlas Copco specializes in compressor, vacuum, industrial, and hybrid technologies and has set up innovation centers and manufacturing factories in more than 20 countries and regions.
In 2021, the enterprise generated nearly $11.35 billion in operating revenue and employed 41,000 people worldwide.
In recent years, SND has been making efforts to encourage foreign enterprises to establish regional headquarters, R&D centers, and sales centers in the district. The district is currently home to more than 1,800 foreign-invested enterprises.
