The opening ceremony for the 2022 "Out in Wuxi" series of activities was held in ancient Huishan town in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on July 23.
A dazzling array of tourism products in six districts and two county-level cities, including intangible cultural heritage items from Liangxi district and pottery from Yixing, were on display during the ceremony.
A car boot sale was also set up to offer tourists coffee, soft drinks, snacks, and cultural decorations.
In addition, ten themed travel routes involving Jiangnan towns, countryside views, Wuxi delicacies, and ancient buildings were unveiled at the ceremony.
The Wuxi municipal bureau of culture, broadcasting, and tourism also announced its plans to boost confidence in the local tourism industry during the ceremony.
It will host tourism promotion activities in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui, Guangdong, and Shandong.
Free tourism packages with a total value of 10 million yuan ($1.48 million) will be offered to Wuxi residents to encourage them to tour local scenic areas, and travel agencies will be rewarded for arranging tourist visits to the city.
Tourist attractions will be exempt from venue leasing and construction fees if they participate in exhibitions and promotional activities.
