Since the beginning of this year, there are 68 research and development enterprises among Hechi's industrial enterprises above designated size, accounting for more than 10 percent of the total. The city has 31 high-tech enterprises and 78 technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, with the total industrial output value of its high-tech enterprises reaching 19.3 billion yuan ($2.8 billion).
In recent years, the city has carried out in-depth digital construction. To date, 48 scientific and technological innovation platform carriers have been built, including six national innovation platforms and 42 autonomous region innovation platforms.
Hechi has been focusing on the construction of key projects. The China-ASEAN (Bama) Big Data Cloud Computing Base has been selected in major autonomous region-level projects, with a planned total investment of about 5.5 billion yuan.
The city has also been focusing on the technology needs of key enterprises and key industries, encouraging technological innovation. In the first half of this year, the city issued the first batch of subsidy funds of 3.61 million yuan for municipal-level science and technology projects.
In addition, the city has been accelerating the construction of new infrastructure. In 2022, the city aims to open 330 5G base stations, while nearly 2,791 base stations have been built and opened. It aims to build a 5G network that provides continuous coverage in its main urban area and basic coverage in the main areas of townships.
