On Aug 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 639 new cases of confirmed infections (61 imported cases, 10 in Beijing municipality, 10 in Guangdong province, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Fujian province, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Liaoning province, 4 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Shandong province, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Henan province, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Shandong province; 578 indigenous cases, 469 in Hainan province, 33 in Shaanxi province, 22 in Tibet autonomous region, 14 in Sichuan province, 8 in Guangdong province, 5 in Fujian province, 5 in Chongqing municipality, 5 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Shanxi province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Hubei province, including 158 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 141 in Hainan province, 4 in Shanxi province, 3 in Guangdong province, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Tibet autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region), no deaths, and 1 new case of suspected infections (an indigenous case in Hainan province).

On Aug 19, 156 patients were released from hospital after being cured (67 imported cases; 89 indigenous cases, 48 in Hainan province, 14 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 8 in Guangdong province, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Tibet autonomous region, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Sichuan province). 24,459 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 4.

As of 24:00 on Aug 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 21,885 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 21,192 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 693 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Aug 19, the National Health Commission had received reports of 238,822 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 225,353 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 8,243 confirmed cases (including 28 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 5,032,690 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 225,069 were still under medical observation.

On Aug 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,715 new asymptomatic cases (124 imported cases; 1,591 indigenous cases, 732 in Hainan province, 501 in Tibet autonomous region, 184 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 40 in Qinghai province, 24 in Shaanxi province, 16 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 14 in Hubei province, 13 in Chongqing municipality, 8 in Zhejiang province, 7 in Jiangxi province, 7 in Guangdong province, 5 in Hebei province, 5 in Liaoning province, 5 in Heilongjiang province, 5 in Fujian province, 5 in Gansu province, 4 in Henan province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Ningxia Hui autonomous region).

On Aug 19, 382 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (93 imported cases; 289 indigenous cases, 124 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 53 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 29 in Hainan province, 18 in Henan province, 18 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 8 in Tibet autonomous region, 6 in Jiangxi province, 6 in Hubei province, 6 in Guangdong province, 5 in Hebei province, 5 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Jilin province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Gansu province). 164 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Aug 19, 20,053 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 753 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Aug 19, 5,370,502 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 370,944 in Hong Kong (9,597 had died and 71,414 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 785 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 4,998,765 in Taiwan (9,572 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
