On Aug 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 603 new cases of confirmed infections (44 imported cases, 9 in Guangdong province, 8 in Fujian province, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Sichuan province; 559 indigenous cases, 441 in Hainan province, 52 in Shaanxi province, 15 in Tibet autonomous region, 14 in Fujian province, 7 in Chongqing municipality, 6 in Guangdong province, 6 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Zhejiang province, 4 in Sichuan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Guizhou province and 1 in Qinghai province, including 51 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 40 in Hainan province, 3 in Tibet autonomous region, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Shaanxi province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Aug 18, 255 patients were released from hospital after being cured (61 imported cases; 194 indigenous cases, 154 in Hainan province, 8 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 8 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 6 in Henan province, 6 in Tibet autonomous region, 5 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Hubei province and 1 in Gansu province). 35,716 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 2.

As of 24:00 on Aug 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 21,824 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 21,125 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 699 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Aug 18, the National Health Commission had received reports of 238,183 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 225,197 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 7,760 confirmed cases (including 24 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 5,009,964 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 226,831 were still under medical observation.

On Aug 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 2,201 new asymptomatic cases (82 imported cases; 2,119 indigenous cases, 1,058 in Hainan province, 665 in Tibet autonomous region, 221 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 34 in Qinghai province, 29 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 20 in Shaanxi province, 14 in Hubei province, 12 in Jiangxi province, 11 in Hebei province, 9 in Henan province, 6 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 6 in Gansu province, 5 in Shanxi province, 5 in Zhejiang province, 5 in Chongqing municipality, 4 in Jiangsu province, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Shandong province, 2 in Fujian province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Yunnan province).

On Aug 18, 435 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (93 imported cases; 342 indigenous cases, 113 in Hainan province, 63 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 48 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 43 in Henan province, 19 in Zhejiang province, 10 in Tibet autonomous region, 10 in Gansu province, 9 in Shandong province, 6 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 6 in Guangdong province, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 3 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Jilin province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province). 57 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Aug 18, 18,884 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 728 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Aug 18, 5,346,414 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 369,651 in Hong Kong (9,589 had died and 71,144 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 793 in Macao (6 had died and 785 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 4,975,970 in Taiwan (9,540 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
