Nantong Taisheng Blue Island Offshore Co Ltd in Qidong – a county-level city administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – had orders worth more than $30 million by July 2, with its products mainly exported to Australia, Canada, Japan, Southeast Asia and other regions.
As one of the leading manufacturers of offshore wind power equipment in China, it specializes in the research, development, design and production of high-end offshore equipment including offshore booster stations, as well as jackets, offshore platforms and offshore modules.
"We have integrated innovation into our genes," said general manager Zou Tao.
Responding to the challenges of creating market opportunities and stimulating demand, the company increased its efforts in technology research and development, as well as in product innovation. Last year, its R&D investment exceeded 60 million yuan ($8.87 million).
In October 2018, Taisheng Blue Island, Zhejiang University and Tongji University jointly established an R&D center, focusing on the technology of deep-sea offshore wind power and hydrogen energy generation.
The company has produced the world's first semi-submersible, pile-inserted wind power barge and the largest offshore booster station – with an installed capacity of 400 megawatts – in Asia. It also has 211 patents at home and abroad, including 40 Chinese, four Japanese and two German invention patents.
