The 2022 World Vocational College Skills Competition kicked off online and in person in the northern port city of Tianjin on Aug 8.
As the first of its kind hosted by China, the six-day competition focused on contestants' abilities in innovation, coordination and cooperation, exchanges among vocational schools and enterprises.
About 1,000 contestants from 70 countries and regions were ready to present their latest techniques regarding equipment manufacturing, electronic information, transportation, finance and trade as well as energy power and materials.
Also, many of these young people will compete in traditional Chinese crafts and intangible culture.
"I have started this preparation for the event in May," said Li Hongbing, a student from Tianjin Electronic Information College, adding that he benefited a lot when working with his Chinese and Russian team mates.
Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Tianjin government and 32 more units, the event aims to promote China’s vocational skills and the Tianjin-pioneered engineering teaching model.
