Aug 11: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Aug 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 700 new cases of confirmed infections (86 imported cases, 27 in Guangdong province, 14 in Shanghai municipality, 11 in Fujian province, 7 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Shandong province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 4 in Yunnan province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 7 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 6 in Guangdong province and 1 in Sichuan province; 614 indigenous cases, 559 in Hainan province, 25 in Guangdong province, 11 in Zhejiang province, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Fujian province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Tibet autonomous region, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Shaanxi province and 1 in Gansu province, including 19 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 9 in Hainan province, 8 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Guangdong province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Aug 10, 125 patients were released from hospital after being cured (60 imported cases; 65 indigenous cases, 21 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 17 in Gansu province, 16 in Sichuan province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Guangdong province). 15,404 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 2.

As of 24:00 on Aug 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 21,327 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 20,694 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 633 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Aug 10, the National Health Commission had received reports of 232,809 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 224,112 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 3,471 confirmed cases (including 7 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,798,975 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 126,303 were still under medical observation.

On Aug 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 1,466 new asymptomatic cases (87 imported cases; 1,379 indigenous cases, 805 in Hainan province, 380 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 66 in Tibet autonomous region, 56 in Zhejiang province, 16 in Jiangxi province, 15 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 8 in Hubei province, 6 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 6 in Gansu province, 5 in Guangdong province, 5 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Sichuan province, 2 in Hebei province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Jilin province and 1 in Henan province).

On Aug 10, 617 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (65 imported cases; 552 indigenous cases, 202 in Gansu province, 183 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 71 in Shandong province, 58 in Henan province, 10 in Sichuan province, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Jilin province, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Yunnan province, 3 in Guangdong province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Fujian province). 26 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 7 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Aug 10, 6,263 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 692 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Aug 10, 5,165,450 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 362,983 in Hong Kong (9,554 had died and 69,555 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 791 in Macao (6 had died and 780 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 4,801,676 in Taiwan (9,298 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
