On Aug 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 390 new cases of confirmed infections (53 imported cases, 19 in Guangdong province, 10 in Beijing municipality, 8 in Fujian province, 4 in Shandong province, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Fujian province; 337 indigenous cases, 297 in Hainan province, 12 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 12 in Guangdong province, 5 in Chongqing municipality, 3 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Guizhou province, including 29 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 26 in Hainan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Guizhou province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Aug 6, 153 patients were released from hospital after being cured (55 imported cases; 98 indigenous cases, 41 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 24 in Gansu province, 14 in Sichuan province, 7 in Guangdong province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Shandong province, 2 in Anhui province, 2 in Hainan province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Henan province). 14,817 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Aug 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 21,072 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 20,475 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 597 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Aug 6, the National Health Commission had received reports of 230,886 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 223,651 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 2,009 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,722,938 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 93,522 were still under medical observation.

On Aug 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 478 new asymptomatic cases (79 imported cases; 399 indigenous cases, 186 in Hainan province, 69 in Zhejiang province, 52 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 30 in Henan province, 19 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 8 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 7 in Gansu province, 5 in Hebei province, 5 in Guangdong province, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Shandong province, 3 in Hunan province, 2 in Jilin province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Sichuan province and 1 in Guizhou province).

On Aug 6, 640 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (75 imported cases; 565 indigenous cases, 258 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 200 in Gansu province, 48 in Shandong province, 11 in Shanghai municipality, 9 in Henan province, 9 in Yunnan province, 7 in Jilin province, 6 in Anhui province, 5 in Guangdong province, 5 in Sichuan province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Jiangxi province and 2 in Hubei province). 35 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Aug 6, 5,041 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 645 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Aug 6, 5,077,697 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 360,087 in Hong Kong (9,535 had died and 68,847 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 791 in Macao (6 had died and 777 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 4,716,819 in Taiwan (9,187 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
