The Fuyang Yinhu Sports Center, one of the most eye-catching venues of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 which just opened to the public a few days ago, recently won the Excellence Award of the 49th IES Illumination Awards, local media outlets reported.
The IES Illumination Awards, held once a year, are among the three most authoritative illumination awards in the world.
The sports center, which is designed for the Asian Games' shooting, archery and modern pentathlon competitions, was noted for its light and shadow effects in the sunshine, bringing out the dynamic beauty of sports.
The center was inspired by the masterpiece Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains and blends in perfectly with the surrounding natural landscapes.
The roof of the venue is shaped like a herringbone curved surface to resemble a mountain. In addition, 34,000 rotating aluminum alloy louvers were installed on the venu's east and south curtain walls, allowing for changes to the facade.
