The final and award ceremony for a competition themed on integrated circuits and internet of things and run by alumni of the prestigious Tsinghua University was held in Suzhou New District on July 19, local media outlets reported.
A total of 36 projects stood out from nearly 100 participants and qualified for the final with remarkable development potential and originality.
Eight of the projects also reached an initial agreement with SND that day and will set up operations in the district's rising Taihu Science City in the near future.
A Tsinghua Alumni Suzhou Integrated Circuit Innovation Base was unveiled the same day and is expected to carry out a wide range of cooperation in the IC industry, entrepreneurial project incubation, and talent training so as to promote closer ties between Tsinghua alumni's IC resources and the local innovation environment.
The agreement on setting up a social practice base for postgraduates of the School of Integrated Circuits at Tsinghua University in SND was also signed at the event. The base is designed to promote cooperation between Tsinghua University and SND in talent training and scientific research and innovation, attract high-end talent, boost the commercialization of high-level research achievements, and empower industrial innovation and development.
In addition to the IC and IoT edition in SND, seven more competitions run by alumni of Tsinghua University on other cutting-edge topics will be held in seven other cities in the future.
