According to the Hechi municipal transportation bureau, the city has invested 11.88 billion yuan ($1.76 billion) in the construction of the New International Land-sea Trade Corridor since the beginning of this year, completing 56.19 percent of the annual planned investment tasks.
The New Western Land-Sea Trade Corridor is the main route to the sea and borders Southwest China. It runs from Chongqing to the south via Guizhou, passes through the coastal ports of the Beibu Gulf in Guangxi, as well as reaches the main logistics nodes of ASEAN countries like Singapore.
As an important node city in Guangxi's transportation corridor connecting Guizhou, Chongqing, and Sichuan, Hechi is focusing on projects like the Hechi section of the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Rail and the Hechi section of the Tian'e-Beihai Expressway, with a total investment of about 77.7 billion yuan.
The Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Rail is an important part of the New International Land-sea Trade Corridor. The Hechi section of the project is 162 kilometers long, with an investment of 23.37 billion yuan. To date, the project has completed 14.8 billion yuan of investment, accounting for 63.33 percent of the total investment.
The Hechi section of the Tian'e-Beihai Expressway is a road route of the New International Land-sea Trade Corridor. The total length of the project is 237 km and it has completed an investment of 26.3 billion yuan, accounting for 48.62 percent of the total investment.
In the future, the city will accelerate the construction of railway and expressway projects to lay a strong transportation network for Hechi to connect to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Southeast China, as well as Southeast Asia.
