On Aug 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 111 new cases of confirmed infections (58 imported cases, 29 in Guangdong province, 8 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Fujian province, 3 in Heilongjiang province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 5 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Guangdong province and 1 in Shandong province; 53 indigenous cases, 24 in Hainan province, 10 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 9 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Henan province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Sichuan province, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 4 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 1 in Sichuan province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On Aug 3, 130 patients were released from hospital after being cured (40 imported cases; 90 indigenous cases, 36 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 31 in Gansu province, 10 in Guangdong province, 7 in Sichuan province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Anhui province and 2 in Hainan province). 27,872 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Aug 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 20,908 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 20,320 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 588 confirmed cases (including 1 serious case) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Aug 3, the National Health Commission had received reports of 229,913 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 223,139 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,548 confirmed cases (2 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,688,014 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 106,601 were still under medical observation.

On Aug 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 335 new asymptomatic cases (94 imported cases; 241 indigenous cases, 62 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 45 in Zhejiang province, 41 in Henan province, 25 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 24 in Shandong province, 18 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 11 in Gansu province, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Hainan province, 2 in Jilin province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Yunnan province).

On Aug 3, 640 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (58 imported cases; 582 indigenous cases, 331 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 174 in Gansu province, 21 in Anhui province, 15 in Shanghai municipality, 12 in Guangdong province, 10 in Henan province, 4 in Tianjin municipality, 4 in Jilin province, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Chongqing municipality). 11 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 5 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Aug 3, 5,903 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 635 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Aug 3, 5,010,886 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 357,909 in Hong Kong (9,524 had died and 68,188 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 791 in Macao (6 had died and 777 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 4,652,186 in Taiwan (9,026 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
