Hechi held a commencement ceremony for its major projects for the third quarter of 2022 on Aug 2 in Daren Industrial Park. During the event, the city also held a commencement ceremony for Tongkun Group's Guangxi Youcan lithium iron phosphate new energy material project.
The project has an investment of 8 billion yuan ($1.2 billion), and adopts globally advanced processing technology. Upon completion, its production capacity is expected to be 160,000 metric tons of lithium iron phosphate, 160,000 tons of iron phosphate, and 800,000 tons of pyrite for acid production. The project is expected to have an annual output value of 20 billion yuan and provide more than 1,700 jobs.
The Youcan lithium iron phosphate project is a green energy material project with the largest investment scale, the highest technological content, the strongest growth potential, and the widest capacity in Hechi. The construction of the project is expected to drive Hechi's development of its new materials, new energy, and new technology industries, as well as boost the city's industrial structural optimization and upgrading.
Chen Shinan, vice president of Tongkun Group, said that the project will fully promote the civil construction and equipment installation work, striving to begin full production as scheduled. It is also striving to build a high-quality and high-level green new energy materials industry demonstration project to propel high-speed development of the industry.
