Liaoning University

Established in 1948, Liaoning University (LNU) is one of the National "Project 211" Key Universities of China, designated by the Ministry of Education. It is the only comprehensive academic higher education institution of its kind in Liaoning Province, with a range of disciplines offered such as Chinese, history, philosophy, economics, law, biology, physics, chemistry, engineering, management, medicine and art. LNU operates at three campuses which cover 653,700 square meters of building space.

Liaoning University has 27 schools, 1,267 full-time faculty members, including 283 professors, 504 associate professors, 119 doctoral supervisors, 83 specialists on special stipends under the State Council of the People's Republic of China, two Yangtze Scholars employed as “Professor on special appointment”, and one academician from the China Academy of Sciences on “Joint Appointment” through the State.

In total, LNU offers 71 undergraduate disciplines, 26 master’s degree programs at the first level, 24 professional degree authorization programs, eight doctoral programs at the first level, eight postdoctoral research stations, three national key disciplines, and six provincial key first-level disciplines.

Liaoning Normal University

Founded in September 1951, Liaoning Normal University is a key provincial university in Dalian, a beautiful coastal city in northern China. It is listed among the national double first-class universities.

The university has 1,860 staff members and 1,139 full-time teachers, 13 of whom enjoy special subsidies from the State Council. It has nearly 13,000 undergraduate students, and nearly 5,700 master’s and doctoral students. It has two campuses – Huanghe Road and Xishanhu – along with 21 colleges and graduate schools.

The university has 64 undergraduate majors, including six national characteristic majors and 11 provincial demonstration majors. There are four first-class characteristic disciplines among Liaoning universities and colleges, among which three first-level disciplines have been selected as "first-class construction disciplines" of Liaoning province. It also has eight key provincial disciplines.

The university is building a platform for international cooperation, and has established exchanges and cooperation relationships with 114 universities and research institutions in 23 countries and regions. Each year, it receives more than 1,000 foreign students from more than 50 countries and regions.

Liaoning University of Technology

Founded in 1951, Liaoning University of Technology is located in Jinzhou, a central city in western Liaoning with a well-developed transport system.

The university is a provincial full-time multidisciplinary institution mainly focusing on engineering but also integrating science, economics, management, humanities, law, and art. Its campus covers more than 67 hectares, with the building area of more than 440,000 square meters.

There are more than 1,200 faculty members at the university, including 460 professors and associate professors, 10 of whom enjoy the special government allowance from the State Council. The university enrolls more than 18,000 students and has 53 undergraduate programs, as well as one first-class provincial discipline, one provincial characteristic discipline project, six provincial key laboratories and three provincial university key laboratories.

Its international exchange and cooperation have also achieved remarkable results. It has established inter-school cooperation with more than 20 universities in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Australia, Poland, Thailand and Japan. At present, the number of international students has reached 500, including 80 master’s students.

Liaoning Shihua University

Liaoning Shihua University was founded in Dalian in 1950 and has developed into a multidisciplinary institution featuring petroleum and petrochemicals, along with eight main disciplines: engineering, science, economics, management, liberal arts, law, teaching and art.

The university covers 126 hectares, with a total building area of 532,000 square meters, and its library has 2.72 million volumes and 36 electronic literature databases.

The university has one department and 16 colleges, with 52 undergraduate programs and 18,400 full-time students. It also has 1,535 staff members, among whom 950 are full-time teachers. There are 387 teachers with doctoral degrees, 416 teachers with senior professional titles, and 292 doctoral and master’s supervisors.

It has also expanded exchanges and cooperation with other countries, and has established long-term cooperative relations with 47 institutions of higher learning and research institutes in 17 countries, including the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom and South Korea.

Liaoning Technical University

Founded in 1949, Liaoning Technical University is a State key university with a distinguished history.

The university has 25 colleges and 67 undergraduate programs. There are more than 32,000 enrolled students at the university, including 26,000 full-time doctoral students, master's students, undergraduates and overseas students. There are also 1,484 full-time teachers and 874 teachers with senior titles.

The university has established a long-term, stable platform for further international exchanges and cooperation. It has inter-school cooperation relationships with nearly 200 universities and research institutions in more than 30 countries and regions such as the United States, Canada, Colombia, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Poland, Italy, Ireland, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and a range of Asian countries.
