July 31: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 116 new cases of confirmed infections (42 imported cases, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 9 in Guangdong province, 7 in Fujian province, 6 in Sichuan province, 4 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Hunan province, including 10 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 3 in Fujian province, 2 in Sichuan province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Guangdong province; 74 indigenous cases, 32 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 31 in Gansu province, 5 in Sichuan province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Guangdong province, including 45 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 24 in Gansu province, 19 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 2 in Sichuan province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On July 30, 140 patients were released from hospital after being cured (46 imported cases; 94 indigenous cases, 50 in Gansu province, 21 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 5 in Jiangsu province, 5 in Anhui province, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Guangdong province, 3 in Hainan province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Chongqing municipality). 13,946 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 6.

As of 24:00 on July 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 20,675 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 20,138 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 537 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 30, the National Health Commission had received reports of 229,510 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 222,553 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,731 confirmed cases (including 5 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,651,741 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 131,352 were still under medical observation.

On July 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 425 new asymptomatic cases (65 imported cases; 360 indigenous cases, 143 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 103 in Gansu province, 53 in Shandong province, 33 in Henan province, 8 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, 7 in Tianjin municipality, 5 in Sichuan province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and 1 in Hunan province).

On July 30, 378 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (53 imported cases; 325 indigenous cases, 154 in Gansu province, 52 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 47 in Anhui province, 20 in Henan province, 12 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Tianjin municipality, 8 in Guangdong province, 6 in Jiangxi province, 5 in Jiangsu province, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Jilin province, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 55 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 10 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 30, 7,128 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 583 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 30, 4,923,083 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 355,170 in Hong Kong (9,502 had died and 67,573 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 791 in Macao (6 had died and 666 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 4,567,122 in Taiwan (8,893 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
