On July 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 100 new cases of confirmed infections (51 imported cases, 13 in Fujian province, 12 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Guangdong province, 5 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Sichuan province, 4 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Hubei province and 1 in Yunnan province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Fujian province; 49 indigenous cases, 19 in Gansu province, 15 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 10 in Sichuan province, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Guangdong province, including 21 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 13 in Gansu province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Sichuan province and 1 in Guangdong province), no deaths, and 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai municipality).

On July 29, 99 patients were released from hospital after being cured (40 imported cases; 59 indigenous cases, 36 in Gansu province, 8 in Anhui province, 7 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Fujian province). 12,613 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 14.

As of 24:00 on July 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 20,633 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 20,092 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 541 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on July 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 229,394 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 222,413 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,755 confirmed cases (11 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 4,637,895 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 131,465 were still under medical observation.

On July 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 348 new asymptomatic cases (77 imported cases; 271 indigenous cases, 87 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 86 in Gansu province, 56 in Shandong province, 21 in Henan province, 12 in Sichuan province, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Guangdong province and 1 in Yunnan province).

On July 29, 389 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (51 imported cases; 338 indigenous cases, 119 in Gansu province, 82 in Anhui province, 52 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 26 in Shanghai municipality, 24 in Henan province, 12 in Guangdong province, 6 in Jiangsu province, 5 in Tianjin municipality, 5 in Jiangxi province, 3 in Fujian province, 2 in Shandong province and 2 in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region). 23 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 29, 7,136 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 581 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 29, 4,900,881 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 354,454 in Hong Kong (9,498 had died and 67,427 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 791 in Macao (6 had died and 626 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 4,545,636 in Taiwan (8,833 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
