According to the Hechi municipal bureau of agriculture and rural affairs, the added value of the city's primary industry is estimated to have increased by 6.6 percent year-on-year in the first half of this year.
In addition, the total output value of the agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery industries is projected to have increased by 6.8 percent year-on-year. Of this, the city's agricultural output value increased by 8.1 percent, its forestry output value grew by 9.8 percent, its animal husbandry output value surged 5.9 percent, and its fishery output value went up by 4.5 percent.
Since the beginning of this year, the city has optimized its industrial layout, improved its industrial system, and promoted the high-quality development of its characteristic industries. In the first half of the year, it is expected that the production of silkworm cocoons, fruit, beef cattle, and sheep will achieve double-digit growth, while the planting area of grain crops has increased by 50,000 mu (75 hectares) and the planting area of sugar cane has increased by 22,000 mu.
It is expected that the output of silkworm cocoons in the first half of the year will increase by 13.79 percent year-on-year, and the output of fruit will increase by 23.1 percent year-on-year.
In addition, the city also focuses on brand creation and industrial park construction. In the first half of the year, the city added various types of agricultural product brand certification and advantageous characteristic industrial clusters.
