Tai'an of China won the bid to host the Asian zone qualifying Taekwondo match for the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics, as revealed by the Executive Committee of the Asian Taekwondo Federation in Korea on June 22. It is the first time for Shandong province to host the top Asian Taekwondo competition.
Supported by the Chinese Taekwondo Association, the Shandong Administration of Sports and Tai'an municipal government, Tai'an is honored to be hosting such a significant international sporting event.

Tai'an organized the Asian Weightlifting Championship in 2007 and the World Cup Climbing Competition in 2018, giving it ample experience in event organization, accommodation, volunteering, security and medical services.
It is reported that the Asian zone qualifying Taekwondo match will be held on a selected date between Feb 1, 2024 and April 30, 2024, with two days for the Olympics and one day for the Paralympics. About 230 athletes and over 100 referees from Asian countries will participate in the event, as well as two to three athletes from Shandong province.
