Suzhou annual intl elite venture week opens

The 2022 (14th) Venture Week for International Elites in Suzhou began on July 11, with the branch venue in Suzhou New District opening at the same time.

Themed around talent and digitalization, the SND branch venue will host 12 events over the following days, aiming to attract more high-caliber talent from home and abroad and strengthening SND's role in industrial and scientific innovation.

Taihu Science City, a key industrial innovation cluster currently under construction in the district, announced at the opening ceremony that it will build a community for high-caliber talent. The community will strive to improve the living and working environment for talent.

Nanjing University's Suzhou Campus, which is located in SND, promoted itself at the opening ceremony as it will start enrolling students this year and has established four new schools in intelligent science and technology, intelligent software and engineering, integrated circuits, and digital economy and management, respectively.

Agreements for 10 major sci-tech talent projects and six sci-tech platform projects were signed on the same day, covering cutting-edge fields such as medical devices and biopharmaceuticals, software and information technology, integrated circuits, and low-carbon development.

Twelve academicians, experts and industrial leaders, including Academician Wu Xinhua from the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, were appointed by SND as referrers of returnee talent.

The ceremony also saw the awarding of a number of leading talents and teams who have made notable scientific and technological contributions to SND.
