Zhuhai set to be medical service hub by 2025

Zhuhai will establish high-level medical treatment, high-quality community-level health, high-standard public health, and high-efficiency health management service systems by 2025, with aim to become a leading medical service hub on the west bank of the Pearl River Estuary.

The goals were announced in the city's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) on the Development of the Health Industry, which was approved during the July 11 executive meeting of the Municipal People's Government.

The document outlined 12 main tasks to be completed by 2025, including promoting the construction of "healthy Zhuhai" in an all-round way, establishing an integrated service system, as well as optimizing an infectious disease prevention and control system and mechanism.

Five major projects were also covered, such as building key clinical disciplines, establishing laboratories, as well as carrying out the innovative inheritance and development of traditional Chinese medicine.

An official of the Zhuhai Health Bureau put forward that Zhuhai will focus on medical and public health to provide comprehensive full-life-cycle medical services for local residents.
