July 13: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 98 new cases of confirmed infections (41 imported cases, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 9 in Guangdong province, 8 in Fujian province, 3 in Hunan province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Hunan province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Sichuan province; 57 indigenous cases, 16 in Guangdong province, 8 in Gansu province, 7 in Anhui province, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Jiangsu province, 5 in Shandong province, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Henan province, 3 in Hainan province and 1 in Jiangxi province, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Anhui province and 2 in Guangdong province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On July 12, 76 patients were released from hospital after being cured (31 imported cases; 45 indigenous cases, 36 in Anhui province, 6 in Shandong province, 2 in Guangdong province and 1 in Shaanxi province). 5,745 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained the same.

As of 24:00 on July 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,845 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 19,413 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 432 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 226,909 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 220,601 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,082 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,380,156 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 110,958 were still under medical observation.

On July 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 240 new asymptomatic cases (36 imported cases; 204 indigenous cases, 61 in Gansu province, 50 in Shanghai municipality, 33 in Shandong province, 22 in Henan province, 14 in Jiangsu province, 6 in Guangdong province, 6 in Hainan province, 4 in Jiangxi province, 3 in Anhui province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 2 in Fujian province).

On July 12, 231 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (26 imported cases; 205 indigenous cases, 154 in Anhui province, 30 in Jiangsu province, 8 in Liaoning province, 5 in Shandong province, 4 in Jilin province, 2 in Guangdong province and 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region). 10 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 12, 3,207 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 381 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 12, 4,475,960 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 342,868 in Hong Kong (9,420 had died and 65,117 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 663 in Macao (3 had died and 151 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 4,132,429 in Taiwan (7,780 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
