SDU promotes postdoctoral innovation, entrepreneurship competition

A promotion conference for the 2022 China Shandong Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, which was organized by the Human Resources and Social Security Department of Shandong Province and Shandong University (SDU), was held in the capital city of Jinan in East China's Shandong province on July 7.
The conference was simultaneously held offline at the main venue in Jinan and broadcasted live in sub-venues at the university's Weihai Campus and Qingdao Campus.
Officials from the Human Resources and Social Security Department of Shandong Province, Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, and SDU, and postdoctoral fellows attended the conference.
Postdoctoral fellows are young talent resources with thegreatestinnovative power and entrepreneurial potential in the current era, as well as China's potential high-level talents. They are of strategic significance for promoting Shandong into a socialist, strong and modernized province in the new era, said Hou Fudong, deputy director of Human Resources and Social Security Department of Shandong Province.
In recent years, Shandong has been beefing up its efforts to reforms and innovation by strengthening service guarantee, updating policies,raisingremuneration, and upgrading services to help postdoctoral fellows realize high-quality career development, Hou said.
Hou also explained the purpose of the competition in detail during the event and said that this year's competition will pay more attention to achievement transformation, market operation, and achievement development, with an aim to build a platform for postdoctoral fellows to realize higher, larger, and wider aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Wu Zhen, vice-president of SDU, reviewed the university's achievements in developing the postdoctoral team during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) period, and said that SDU will continue to develop its postdoctoral department to meet the strategic needs of Shandong province and our country.
Furthermore, Xing Jianping, the deputy director of SDU's newly founded School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, shared his experience participating in competitions and provided advice, and participants watched an introductory video of Shandong and SDU's postdoctoral work.
