New Energy Vehicles

The new-energy vehicle (NEV) industry in Dalian has primarily been built in Jinpu New Area. Jinpu New Area has cultivated a comprehensive industrial chain featuring energy conservation and NEV and has become home to plants of several giant NEV carmakers. China Automotive Technology and Research Center set up a NEV project in Dalian Free Trade Zone in July 2009. Domestic carmakers, such as Chery Holding Group and Liaoning Shuguang Automotive Group, have set up their branches of energy-saving vehicles and NEV in the Dalian Free Trade Zone. China FAW Group Corporation has built a production base of energy-saving and new energy buses in the local economic development area, which is also the residence of Yema Yiwei Electric Vehicles and the Powertrain project. Furthermore, Shanghai Ruihua Group has kick-started its NEV project in the Sanshilipu Port-related Industrial Area.
