On July 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 101 new cases of confirmed infections (36 imported cases, 11 in Guangdong province, 7 in Fujian province, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Anhui province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 3 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Guangdong province; 65 indigenous cases, 17 in Guangdong province, 11 in Anhui province, 9 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 9 in Shandong province, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Gansu province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Jiangxi province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Fujian province, including 12 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 7 in Shandong province, 3 in Anhui province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Shaanxi province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On July 9, 35 patients were released from hospital after being cured (18 imported cases; 17 indigenous cases, 9 in Anhui province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Guangdong province). 6,223 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on July 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,718 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 19,321 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 397 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 9, the National Health Commission had received reports of 226,610 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 220,380 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,004 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,334,624 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 79,231 were still under medical observation.

On July 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 319 new asymptomatic cases (40 imported cases; 279 indigenous cases, 71 in Anhui province, 59 in Jiangsu province, 55 in Shandong province, 52 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Guangdong province, 8 in Gansu province, 7 in Fujian province, 7 in Hainan province, 4 in Henan province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Shaanxi province).

On July 9, 94 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (26 imported cases; 68 indigenous cases, 32 in Anhui province, 21 in Jiangsu province, 6 in Guangdong province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Liaoning province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Shandong province). 15 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 3 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 9, 2,876 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 390 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 9, 4,396,184 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 341,405 in Hong Kong (9,410 had died and 64,819 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 590 in Macao (2 had died and 102 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 4,054,189 in Taiwan (7,553 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
