July 7: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 124 new cases of confirmed infections (30 imported cases, 11 in Shanghai municipality, 7 in Fujian province, 5 in Guangdong province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Henan province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Guangdong province; 94 indigenous cases, 39 in Anhui province, 32 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Shanxi province, including 12 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 9 in Anhui province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Guangdong province), no deaths, and 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai municipality).

On July 6, 39 patients were released from hospital after being cured (21 imported cases; 18 indigenous cases, 9 in Anhui province, 5 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Guangdong province). 4,401 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained the same.

As of 24:00 on July 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,587 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 19,257 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 330 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on July 6, the National Health Commission had received reports of 226,300 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 220,265 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 809 confirmed cases (1 case in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 4,300,874 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 65,940 were still under medical observation.

On July 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 285 new asymptomatic cases (41 imported cases; 244 indigenous cases, 128 in Anhui province, 57 in Jiangsu province, 22 in Shanghai municipality, 17 in Fujian province, 9 in Shandong province, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Shaanxi province).

On July 6, 114 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (41 imported cases; 73 indigenous cases, 51 in Anhui province, 5 in Liaoning province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Jilin province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Yunnan province). 16 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 6, 2,106 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 384 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 6, 4,304,698 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 339,998 in Hong Kong (9,406 had died and 64,471 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 512 in Macao (2 had died and 83 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 3,964,188 in Taiwan (7,223 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
