July 6: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 141 new cases of confirmed infections (29 imported cases, 9 in Guangdong province, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Fujian province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Hainan province, 1 in Sichuan province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 6 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Chongqing municipality and 1 in Sichuan province; 112 indigenous cases, 81 in Anhui province, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Fujian province, 5 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Shandong province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 46 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 34 in Anhui province, 6 in Fujian province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Sichuan province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On July 5, 27 patients were released from hospital after being cured (23 imported cases; 4 indigenous cases, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Sichuan province). 5,620 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained the same.

As of 24:00 on July 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,557 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 19,236 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 321 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 5, the National Health Commission had received reports of 226,176 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 220,226 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 724 confirmed cases (1 case in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,292,786 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 62,254 were still under medical observation.

On July 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 286 new asymptomatic cases (45 imported cases; 241 indigenous cases, 141 in Anhui province, 61 in Jiangsu province, 15 in Shanghai municipality, 10 in Shaanxi province, 6 in Fujian province, 5 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Sichuan province).

On July 5, 57 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (35 imported cases; 22 indigenous cases, 9 in Liaoning province, 4 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Sichuan province). 52 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 5, 1,951 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 388 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 5, 4,269,602 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 339,514 in Hong Kong (9,405 had died and 64,356 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 461 in Macao (2 had died and 83 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 3,929,627 in Taiwan (7,128 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
