July 3: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 104 new cases of confirmed infections (29 imported cases, 8 in Fujian province, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Guangdong province, 4 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Jiangxi province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 75 indigenous cases, 61 in Anhui province, 6 in Shandong province, 3 in Jiangsu province, 3 in Shaanxi province and 2 in Shanghai municipality, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Shandong province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.
On July 2, 40 patients were released from hospital after being cured (28 imported cases; 12 indigenous cases, 6 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Shanghai municipality). 5,590 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on July 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,454 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 19,154 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 300 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on July 2, the National Health Commission had received reports of 225,851 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 220,115 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 510 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,278,297 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 61,256 were still under medical observation.
On July 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 369 new asymptomatic cases (59 imported cases; 310 indigenous cases, 231 in Anhui province, 56 in Jiangsu province, 10 in Shandong province, 7 in Liaoning province, 3 in Zhejiang province and 3 in Shaanxi province).
On July 2, 102 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (75 imported cases; 27 indigenous cases, 8 in Liaoning province, 5 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 5 in Jilin province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Hebei province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Guangdong province). 6 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 2, 1,249 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 409 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on July 2, 4,176,883 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 338,679 in Hong Kong (9,405 had died and 64,131 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 348 in Macao (83 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 3,837,856 in Taiwan (6,868 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
