July 2: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 72 new cases of confirmed infections (34 imported cases, 10 in Guangdong province, 7 in Fujian province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Hainan province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Shandong province, 2 in Chongqing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Jiangxi province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Chongqing municipality; 38 indigenous cases, 34 in Anhui province, 3 in Shandong province and 1 in Jiangsu province, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Shandong province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.
On July 1, 52 patients were released from hospital after being cured (38 imported cases; 14 indigenous cases, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Beijing municipality and 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region). 12,101 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained the same.
As of 24:00 on July 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,425 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 19,126 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 299 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on July 1, the National Health Commission had received reports of 225,747 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 220,075 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 446 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,273,988 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 62,546 were still under medical observation.
On July 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 196 new asymptomatic cases (51 imported cases; 145 indigenous cases, 101 in Anhui province, 29 in Jiangsu province, 8 in Liaoning province, 3 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Shandong province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Sichuan province).
On July 1, 90 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (69 imported cases; 21 indigenous cases, 5 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Liaoning province, 2 in Jilin province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Yunnan province). 5 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 1, 988 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 429 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on July 1, 4,141,768 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 338,394 in Hong Kong (9,402 had died and 64,069 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 325 in Macao (83 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 3,803,049 in Taiwan (6,772 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
