Guangxi will build eight distinctive national tourism scenery corridors spanning 5,400 kilometers and integrating dining, accommodation, transportation, traveling, shopping and entertainment, according to a 2021-2035 plan, officials of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region announced on June 25.
Cultural relics and natural scenery such as tourist attractions, towns, traditional villages and border checkpoints will be connected via the corridors. The tourism industry in border ethnic areas is expected to see a boost in development, with the corridors and the construction of Guangxi into world-level tourism destination to be accelerated.
Several corridors, such as one connecting border checkpoints and one connecting coastal scenery, are expected to be completed by 2025.
The development of tourism products along the eight corridors will be carried out from 2026 to 2030, while overall service quality will also be upgraded during this period.
