According to the Opinions of the State Council on Supporting Guizhou in Blazing New Trails in the Development of the Western Region in the New Era, which was issued at the beginning of this year, Southwest China's Guizhou province will construct 139 major projects in the next few years.
By May 9, Guizhou had started construction on 48 major projects with a total investment of 372.5 billion yuan ($55.4 billion), 71.4 billion yuan of which will be paid this year.
By the end of this year, Guizhou plans to have started construction on 69 major projects with a total investment of 519.6 billion yuan, 91.9 billion yuan of which will be paid this year.
Guizhou had received 324.45 billion yuan in various subsidies from the central government by the end of April, 47.42 billion yuan more than the same period last year.
The province had also received a transfer payment of 1.85 billion yuan from government funds by the end of April, 929 million yuan more than the same period last year.
So far, 12 national government departments and commissions have issued supporting policies for Guizhou, and Agricultural Bank of China and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade signed cooperation agreements with the province.
More supporting policies and cooperation agreements are on the way.
