All-terrain vehicle Nanji 2, developed by Guizhou Jonyang Kinetics Co, has participated in China's four Antarctic expeditions, making it the first domestically-made large transportation equipment to be used in Antarctic expeditions.

Nanji 2 is made of special materials so that it can operate at temperatures as low as -40 or -41 C and park at temperatures as low as -50 to -70 C. Nanji 2 is made using cutting-edge technology.

It also uses special door locks and is equipped with a heating system to guarantee sealing and heat preservation inside.

Before it began developing Nanji 2, the company had accumulated seven years of experience developing all-terrain and amphibious vehicles.

Nanji 2 adopts a building block design so that it can be transformed into a water wagon, rescue vehicle or transport vehicle according to circumstances. It has two 4-meter-long carriages and a max speed of 60 kilometers per hour.

Since its establishment in 1936, Jonyang has obtained more than 200 patents, sold products to more than 10 countries and regions in Asia, Africa and the Americas, and established a sales center in Kenya.

The company has established various national post-doctoral research work stations, provincial technology centers, provincial industrial engineering centers, provincial engineering machinery research centers and provincial labs.
