A new online English portal for the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area, or Qingdao FTZ – shandong.chinadaily.com.cn/QDFTZ/ – went online on June 8.
Backed by chinadaily.com.cn and the Administrative Committee of China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area, the portal aims to help connect the area with international audiences, tell stories about the Qingdao FTZ to the outside world and provide immediate and useful information for expats in the area.
The portal has five main sections: About, What's New, What We Have, Innovation and Services. It is expected to become an important window for foreigners eager to learn more about the Qingdao FTZ.
It will introduce Qingdao FTZ's development history, prosperous economy, remarkable results achieved in scientific and technological innovation, key industries, and preferential policies – as well as provide useful information to overseas visitors through image-texts and videos.
Lying in the Qingdao West Coast New Area – the only State-level new area in East China's Shandong province – the Qingdao FTZ was designated as "an important pivotal city along the economic corridor of the New Eurasian Land Bridge" and "a strategic pivot for maritime cooperation" by the nation.
It has always placed institutional innovation at the core and has focused on fostering an international, market-oriented and law-based business environment.
