Camping has become "trendy" among Chinese citizens over recent years, with the market size reaching 74.75 billion yuan ($11.14 billion) in 2021, up 62.5 percent from a year earlier, according the latest survey by market consultancy iMedia Research.
The camping mania is also boosting the sales of outdoor equipment, such as tents, sleeping bags, water bottles, gas grills and coffee pots.
As a new form emerging in the tourism industry, camping is expected to be a growth point driving up domestic consumption.
It is estimated that the core market size of China's camping economy will rise to 248.32 billion yuan in 2025, according to the survey.
