June 23: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 48 new cases of confirmed infections (35 imported cases, 12 in Guangdong province, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Fujian province, 4 in Chongqing municipality, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Sichuan province, including 4 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases in Guangdong province; 13 indigenous cases, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.
On June 22, 93 patients were released from hospital after being cured (25 imported cases; 68 indigenous cases, 39 in Beijing municipality, 18 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 9 in Shanghai municipality and 2 in Liaoning province). 5,936 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 2.
As of 24:00 on June 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,169 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,901 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 268 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on June 22, the National Health Commission had received reports of 225,397 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 219,454 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 717 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,230,139 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 105,503 were still under medical observation.
On June 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 87 new asymptomatic cases (69 imported cases; 18 indigenous cases, 7 in Jilin province, 5 in Liaoning province, 3 in Guangdong province and 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region).
On June 22, 191 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (73 imported cases; 118 indigenous cases, 39 in Beijing municipality, 32 in Shanghai municipality, 21 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 7 in Liaoning province, 7 in Jilin province, 6 in Zhejiang province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Sichuan province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Gansu province). 4 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (all were imported cases). As of 24:00 on June 22, 1,262 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 531 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 22, 3,774,896 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 335,510 in Hong Kong (9,397 had died and 63,399 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 107 in Macao (83 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 3,439,279 in Taiwan (5,651 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
