Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region promoted its culture and tourism in Guangzhou, Guandong province on June 14, aiming to further expand tourist resources in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and help the local tourism industry recover.
Immersive plays were staged during the event, showcasing distinctive Liuzhou elements such as Liuzhou river snail rice noodles, cultural creative products of the Liuzhou Museum and Dong ethnic songs and dances.
The Liuzhou bureau of culture, radio, film, television, and tourism signed a contract with Guangzhou GZL International Travel Service to carry out communication, matchmaking and cooperation in the operation of traveling, destination promotion, hotels, dining, conferences and tourist attractions.
It was also announced that awards are available for travel agencies arranging chartered tourism planes and trains to Liuzhou. Tourist attractions such as Chengyang Bazhai and Shuanglonggou Forest Tourist Resort launched several discounts.
Guangxi resumed trans-provincial tourism starting on May 27, and Liuzhou received 887,000 tourists during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 3 to 5, placing the city fourth nationwide in terms of tourism growth during this year's holiday, according to a report released by online travel platforms.
