Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province is ramping up efforts to create a cleaner, livable, and more convenient living environment by renovating old communities, transforming old street blocks, and improving property management.
This year, the city will improve the renovation of old residential communities and include the maintenance works as well.
For example, the construction company that was responsible for the renovation of the Cuiyuan Community in Liangxi district last year will now oversee the community's property maintenance and work with the community's property management company to offer services such as the dismantling of illegal buildings.
The city is expected to renovate 180 old communities with a combined area of 11.5 million square meters this year.
Wuxi will also solve common problems in old street blocks this year, including lack of parking spaces, potholes in roads, and damaged walls.
The Daoxiang area in Binhu district is currently undergoing a transformation under this new combined renovation-maintenance model. The project will include infrastructure renovation, environment upgrading, the construction of service facilities as well as the integration of intelligent and low-carbon elements. Expert planners and local residents will be invited to help design the area.
In addition, State-owned property management companies in Wuxi will cooperate with districts, subdistricts, and residential communities to transform the city's public space into an integrated property project, making citywide information-sharing and efficient management possible.
The city will continue implementing the performance appraisal system for local property companies to motivate them to create a higher-quality living environment and a more beautiful city.
