Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province has seen significant improvement in its natural environment after years of efforts, according to the latest communique on its environment.
Locals say the best thing about the improved air quality is being able to enjoy the blue sky and white clouds.
Last year, the average concentration of PM 2.5 around Wuxi was 29 micrograms per cubic meter, the best performance ever for the city, and 82.2 percent of days in the city had good air quality.
Wuxi's 66 surface water sections were rated "good" and the water quality of Taihu Lake met standards for general industrial water.
In addition, Wuxi also treats nearly 2.6 million metric tons of industrial hazardous waste per year while produced about 1.09 tons of such waste last year.
