Baseaa Design, a manufacturer of household 3D printers based in Suzhou New District, recently won an iF Design Award 2022 for its product X-KIT, a robot creation kit that allows the 3D printing of toy robots.
The annual iF Design Award, founded in 1953, is one of the most prestigious design accolades in the world.
The kit, which is enabled by an app and hardware to make it easier for children to use, stood out from more than 10,000 works from 57 countries and regions.
Parts designed with X-KIT can be printed on any 3D printer, while the app, which has pre-set parameters, can not only ensure prints come out perfectly sized for the hub, but also allow complete creative freedom in designing.
Established in SND in 2020, Baseaa Design is dedicated to the integration of innovative designs and 3D printing, and has been dubbed the digital Lego, helping children develop their creativity, imagination and practical skills.
3D printers and other niche gadgets developed by Baseaa have been gaining in popularity in recent years and have been used at more than 3,000 primary and middle school across the country.
