June 19: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 36 new cases of confirmed infections (31 imported cases, 10 in Shandong province, 9 in Fujian province, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Guangdong province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 10 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 8 in Shandong province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Hunan province; 5 indigenous cases, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Liaoning province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.
On June 18, 53 patients were released from hospital after being cured (24 imported cases; 29 indigenous cases, 18 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Sichuan province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Liaoning province). 4,127 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on June 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,061 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,815 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 246 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on June 18, the National Health Commission had received reports of 225,243 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 219,120 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 897 confirmed cases (including 8 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,212,613 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 108,801 were still under medical observation.
On June 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 123 new asymptomatic cases (101 imported cases; 22 indigenous cases, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Jilin province, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 1 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps).
On June 18, 138 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (68 imported cases; 70 indigenous cases, 45 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Liaoning province, 5 in Sichuan province, 4 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Jilin province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Hebei province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and 1 in Yunnan province). 10 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (all were imported cases). As of 24:00 on June 18, 1,560 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 546 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 18, 3,579,135 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 334,599 in Hong Kong (9,393 had died and 63,191 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 83 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 3,244,453 in Taiwan (5,049 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
