June 18: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 17, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 35 new cases of confirmed infections (24 imported cases, 6 in Guangdong province, 4 in Fujian province, 4 in Yunnan province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Hubei province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province, including 2 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 11 indigenous cases, 5 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Liaoning province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Shanghai municipality, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Inner Mongolia autonomous region), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.
On June 17, 72 patients were released from hospital after being cured (21 imported cases; 51 indigenous cases, 27 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 11 in Beijing municipality, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Liaoning province and 1 in Sichuan province). 4,762 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on June 17, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,030 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,791 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 239 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on June 17, the National Health Commission had received reports of 225,207 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 219,067 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 914 confirmed cases (including 9 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,207,261 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 107,576 were still under medical observation.
On June 17, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 169 new asymptomatic cases (128 imported cases; 41 indigenous cases, 16 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 8 in Beijing municipality, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Jilin province, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Hebei province and 2 in Liaoning province).
On June 17, 233 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (67 imported cases; 166 indigenous cases, 107 in Shanghai municipality, 35 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 6 in Shandong province, 5 in Jilin province, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Liaoning province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Jiangxi province). 3 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on June 17, 1,585 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 523 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 17, 3,525,259 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 334,389 in Hong Kong (9,393 had died and 63,122 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 83 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 3,190,787 in Taiwan (4,868 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
