June 9 marked the first anniversary of the Wuhan Institute of Industrial Innovation and Development (WHIIID), which is headquartered in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC). On this occasion, 26 innovation institutions signed agreements to move into the institute.
Covering capital, talent and technology, these institutions are professional research centers, corporate innovation centers, public service centers, and coordinated innovation centers.
WHIIID is a comprehensive public service platform that integrates scientific and technological system reforms, entrepreneurship, investment, technological incubation and commercialization and talent attraction.
The institute will work together with Great China International Group Co based in the Greater Bay Area to build an industry-finance innovation center, and will launch more collaborations in healthcare, project investment and financial assets.
The Wuhan State-owned Industry Innovation Alliance jointly founded by the Wuhan State-owned assets supervision and administration commission and WHIIID was unveiled the same day, enabling 11 municipal State-owned enterprises, two municipal banks and relevant enterprises directly administered by the central or provincial governments to join forces and build a "research + service + investment" platform.
