North China's Hebei province witnessed trade growth with its major trading partners in the first four months of this year, according to Shijiazhuang Customs Wednesday.
The province's total import and export volume with the ASEAN and the EU reached 19.09 billion yuan ($2.83 billion) and 17.67 billion yuan, respectively, up 6.9 percent and 11.9 percent.
Hebei also recorded a trade volume of 55.06 billion yuan with countries along the Belt and Road in the first four months, up 14.3 percent year-on-year.
Over the period, the total foreign trade value of Hebei province was 160.69 billion yuan, down 3.4 percent year-on-year. Its exports grew 4.2 percent to 96.55 billion yuan, while imports decreased 12.9 percent to 64.14 billion yuan. Among the exports, electro-mechanical products, high-tech products, and organic chemicals grew rapidly.
