Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, Guiyang Railway Station, Guiyang North Railway Station and Guiyang East Railway Station in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, started to use a new COVID-19 prevention and control system on April 11.
The new system is based on Guizhou's health code application system and can scan passengers' ID cards by utilizing the gate machines and hand-held terminals at the airport and railway stations.
Guizhou health codes will be automatically generated after passengers upload their travel codes and fill in the necessary information. The system will use big data to cross-contrast passengers' contact with confirmed COVID-19 cases or asymptomatic carriers.
The system will also give early warning if a passenger has concerning travel records, and the airport or railway station will recheck the passenger to reduce the risk of infection and improve the efficiency of exit ticket checks.
