As this year’s Cultural and Natural Heritage Day (on June 11) is coming, we will post a series of stories on seven world cultural heritages in Gansu province, where many activities will be held.

Today, let’s take a look at the Mogao Grottoes, the most famous world cultural heritage site in the province! Known as the Thousand-Buddha Caves, the Mogao Grottoes house about 45,000 square meters of murals and more than 2,000 painted sculptures comprising the largest collection of Buddhist art in the world.
