Many enterprises in Shanghai are preparing to resume their operations from next month, as the city announced its latest plan on Sunday for resuming work and production on June 1 after the latest wave of the COVID-19 epidemic.

According to Paper.cn, ride-hailing app Didi Chuxing will resume in Shanghai except in medium- and high-risk areas starting on June 1, according to the municipal government plan.

Shanghai Jinshan Railway will resume part of its services from June 1, the Jinshan district government of Shanghai said on Tuesday.

On May 29, a China-Europe freight train was dispatched from Shanghai. It was the first since the latest wave of the COVID-19 epidemic hit the city.

The government plan will further boost recovery for carmakers in Shanghai, whose industrial and supply chains were impacted, said Bai Wenxi, chief economist at IP Global China.

IM Motors said they have been running production in double shifts since May 27. Previous vehicle orders have been rolling off the production line at Lingang factory in Shanghai. Subsequent orders are being expedited. The first batch of vehicles are now being updated with new versions of software and will be delivered in mid-June across the country, the carmaker said.

Tesla also has started double-shift production since May 23, one step closer to complete production resumption.
