The China National Intellectual Property Administration recently approved the establishment of a branch of Anova Patent Agency, LLC in Suzhou New District (SND) in East China's Jiangsu province.
The new branch is one of the first three foreign patent agencies located in China and the only one in Jiangsu. Establishing such an office will greatly improve the business environment and provide support for high-quality development, said local officials.
Anova, headquartered in Washington, the United States, was ranked first among American legal firms in helping Chinese companies obtain patents in the US in 2021. It has more than 40 employees.
Intellectual property protection has been the top priority of the SND government.
By the end of 2021, the district's demonstration zone had over 100 intellectual property agencies providing services to more than 10,000 enterprises and institutions in China and generating a combined annual revenue of over 1 billion yuan ($148.4 million).
