The kickoff meeting for the pilot of integrated management model for brucellosis patients was held by the Division of Communicable Disease Control and Prevention of the China CDC on May 7, 2022.
More than 100 staff members from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the Dalad banner of Ordos city, the Ongniud banner of Chifeng city, the Urad Front banner of Bayannur city, designated hospitals and township health centers attended the meeting.
Zainawudong·Yushan, deputy director of the China CDC, introduced the epidemic situation of brucellosis in China and the significance of this pilot project. He proposed two prevention and control strategies on brucellosis, the first is to control the epidemic among livestock and to reduce the human brucellosis incidence rate; the second is to promote the early diagnosis and treatment of brucellosis patients, to standardize treatment and reduce the risk of brucellosis chronicity.
Fan Mengguang, deputy director of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region CDC, briefed attendees on the current epidemic situation and the prevention and control processes of Inner Mongolia, and stressed the importance of brucellosis case management in the region.
Chen Qiulan, Branch director of zoonotic and vector-borne infectious diseases at the Division of Communicable Disease Control and Prevention of the China CDC, introduced the pilot project to attendees and carried out operation training.
The China CDC decided to carry out the pilot project of the integrated management model for brucellosis patients based on digital health technology in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, in order to explore a new management model, improve brucellosis patients adherence to the treatment and to reduce the risk of chronicity in patients.
The on-site training and two-week trial operation will be carried out in the Ongniud banner, the Urad Front banner and the Dalad banner of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The pilot project will be officially launched after the work plan and information management system are modified according to the trial operation results.
